Vale Cottage is a 550-year-old thatched-roof Devon longhouse, less than ten minutes' walk to the centre of the picture postcard village of Croyde on the North Devon Coast. It was traditionally built in 1470 of cob & lime render and is Grade II listed, to recognise and protect its historical significance. It has just been comprehensively but authentically renovated, in keeping with its age and character. So, it now perfectly combines 15th Century charm with 21st Century comfort and amenity.
Vale Cottage is primarily our home and so is designed & equipped as such, making it a lot more personal, better equipped and comfortable than your average holiday rental. But we also offer the cottage as a rental for up to 10 people, as it has to pay for it's keep. Out of season, there is an option to enjoy a cheaper rate by booking just two bedrooms, both ensuite. We prefer not to use a lettings agency, as we want to get to know our guests and be able to offer a more personal service and tailored experience. We hope that our home might become your Devon home from home and that you will return again & again.
