Out of Season
Come out of season for a quieter cosy weekend, with the option to use just two bedrooms
Out of season - when the kids have gone back to school, the beaches are still lovely and the restaurants and pubs are still open - is a great time to visit Croyde and explore the surrounding beaches and footpaths, just with less people around. Dogs are allowed on the beach from October to the end of April. Summer's great fun, but a lot of our guests prefer a quieter pace.
Croyde is a living, working village, not just a seaside resort - so it's open for business and thriving all year round. One of the pubs and one of the restaurants close for winter, but the rest are open day in day out, often with live music in the pubs. The village shop and Post Office at the heart of our community is always open too.
The surf is better in winter than summer, albeit a tad chillier mid-winter! The average sea temperature in September is 61, the same as in July and in October it's 57, the same as in June. The surf shops tend to close from the end of October to the start of March, but the surf schools do still offer hire and private lessons with enough notice.
Don't forget the Woolacombe Dunes Park Run - you certainly won't forget it if you do it, as it's officially the second hardest Park Run in Britain. And it's on in all weathers, with free parking along Marine Drive from October to March.
Saunton Golf Club closes just on Christmas & Boxing Days. From November to the end of February, green fees with a county card are £80, which is a considerable discount on the peak season price.
The cottage was entirely renovated a few years ago, with an all-new heating and hot water system, including underfloor heating downstairs. We have recently added a lovely roll top bath in the Pipit bathroom - perfect for a long, leisurely soak.
But don't take our word for it
Here's a selection of reviews from previous out of season guests:

- Warm and cosy for our 5 night stay in February - Paula, February

Out of season two-bedroom special offer
Out of season, the cottage is available to book two bedrooms, both with ensuite bathrooms, for up to 4 guests. This is for a minimum stay of 3 nights. Not only will you get your own bathroom, but also your own private staircase! There is an option to have a downstairs bedroom (Pigsty), which has an ensuite bathroom.
You can choose two of the following rooms - Pipit, Dimpsy or Pigsty.
The other bedrooms and bathrooms will be closed off and unavailable. Other than that though you have the whole house, with the whole ground floor - including the family bathroom and work from home room - to enjoy.
Please note that the two-bedroom option is not on offer in July & August, at Christmas & New Year or over Bank Holiday weekends and school holidays. The minimum stay is 3 nights.
